NOVENA

for the SEVEN GIFTS  and the FRUITS of the HOLY SPIRIT

                            DAY 4

             THE GIFT OF FORTITUDE

Reading: “Grow strong in the LORD, with the strength of His Power. Put on the full armor of GOD so as to be able to resist the devil’s tactics. For it is not against human enemies that we have to struggle, but against the principalities and the ruling forces who are masters of the darkness in this world …So stand your ground with Truth, a belt around your waist, and Uprightness, a breastplate, wearing for shoes on your feet the Eagerness to spread the Gospel of Peace, and always carrying the Shield of Faith so that you can use it to quench the burning arrows of the evil one. And then you must take Salvation as your helmet and the Sword of the SPIRIT, that is, the Word of GOD. In all your prayer and entreaty, keep praying in the Spirit on every possible occasion. Never get tired of staying awake to pray for all GOD’s holy people .” (Eph 6,10-19a)

Meditation: By the Gift of Fortitude the soul is strengthened against natural fear, and supported to the end in the performance of duty. Fortitude imparts to the will an impulse and energy which move it to undertake without hesitancy the most arduous tasks, to face dangers, to trample under foot human respect, and to endure without complaint the slow martyrdom of even lifelong tribulation. "He that shall persevere unto the end, he shall be saved."

Prayer: Come, O Blessed SPIRIT of Fortitude, uphold my soul in time of trouble and adversity, sustain my efforts after holiness, strengthen my weakness, give me courage against all the assaults of my enemies, that I may never be overcome and separated from my GOD. Amen.

Our FATHER  and Hail Mary, (once ),Glory be (7 times)
