              THE GIFT OF FEAR

Reading: : “A shoot will spring from the stock of Jesse, a new shoot will grow from his roots. On HIM will rest the Spirit of the LORD, the Spirit of Wisdom and Insight, the Spirit of Counsel and Power, the Spirit of Knowledge and Fear of the LORD: His inspiration will be in fearing the LORD.” (IsH 11, 1-2)

Meditation: The Gift of Holy Fear fills us with a sovereign respect for GOD. It is a fear that arises, not from the thought of hell, but from sentiments of reverence, love and filial submission to our Heavenly FATHER. It is the Fear that is the beginning of Wisdom, detaching us from worldly pleasures that could in any way separate us from GOD.

Prayer: Come, O blessed SPIRIT of Holy Fear, penetrate my inmost heart, that I may hate all things that can offend YOU, and make me worthy to appear before Your Divine Majesty in Heaven, where You live and reign in the unity of the ever Blessed TRINITY, in a world without end. Amen.

Our FATHER  and Hail Mary, (once ),Glory be (7 times)
